Caliana "Ana" Nero is the 20 year old DM of the Sacramento Mandarins.
Coming from a marching family, she's loved drum corps her whole life. Despite being a DCI historian, she's airheaded, spacey and unable to focus most of the time. Being an optimist through and through, she's still maintained her wonder in DCI. Slowly, she's learned to focus and compete through her amazing Matt. She grew up being friends with Rosemary, meeting online when they were young.
Maddison "Matt" Spruce is the 19 year old DM of the Cavaliers.
Coming from a family of Cavaliers allumni, he's a stoic but deeply angry machine. He's got expectations to place highly from his father, which caused him to lose passion for his corps. Slowly, he's learned how to love the art and open up about his emotions through his lovely Ana. He's close childhood friends with Isaiah, going to the same high school.
Rosemary Augustine is the 20 year old DM of the Cadets (now defunct, but not in this story).
She was raised around DCI, and has been a
Cadets fan since birth. She's excitable and upbeat, though her corps struggles financially. She's often seen doing fundraisers, or watching old shows. With time, Vesta's taught her to appreciate modern corps. She's been friends with Ana for years.
Vesta Hawthorne is the 19 year old DM of Phantom Regiment. Raised around theatre and the arts, she's drawn to corps because of the dramatics of it. She's highly theatrical, disregarding the more "classic" side of drum corps for modern. She's close with Jonah, which has subsequently caused a fair bit of hate between her and Isaiah. Over time, Rosemary taught her to appreciate older drum corps.
Isaiah Springs is the 20 year old DM of the Bluecoats. Growing up obsessed with corps, he's wanted to get the first place spot since he started marching. He holds a deep hatred for the Blue Devils, but developing some sort of love/hate for Jonah. Though he can't stand BD, he finds himself attracted to Jonah. He's deeply irritable, and scores are his focus in his own corps. He's been friends with Matt for years, bonding over corps & marching in the same program.
Jonah Abrahms is the 20 year old DM of the Blue Devils. Playing clarinet young, he eventually started conducting & was a prodigy within his school. He joined BD at 17, and has been loyal to them since. He finds himself attracted to Isaiah, but gets the idea he's not interested. He's calm, cool & confident, being the poster boy of DCI during his seasons. He's became close friends with Vesta, practicing with her during the off-seasons.
